Recently I’ve been dipping my toes into the pixel arting world, and after following a few tutorials on the basics, I wanted to get to a place of feeling confident in being able to start my own original pieces from scratch and follow through with finishing them.
In order to do this, I decided to give myself the personal challenge of creating a 64x64px piece each day, according to a noun prompt given on Lospec’s Dailies page, starting from 25th March through to the 24th April.
To further push myself out of my comfort zone, I thought I’d also add another element of randomness by only allowing myself to use the colour palette of the day on that same page too. This really pushed me to use palettes and groups of colours I’d have never picked up otherwise but they all ended up being really fun to use!
I collated the month’s work into a single image as you can see above, and I’m really very happy with how it turned out – I’m excited to use what I found in any future projects!
